The players and staff of Electra Ramat Hasharon visited Schneider children's hospital in Petach Tikva on Tuesday, Feb. 22nd, 2011. The players, together with the representatives of the pharmaceutical company Roche who organized the visit, went to the different departments, distributed basketballs and chocolate and played with the children.
One of the most touching moments was when Erica White tried to communicate with a 1-year old baby girl with a sad face. She handed her the ball but the girl did not respond. White did not give up and she tried making this girl laugh until, at the end, she managed to bring her to smile widely, while her mother stood at her bedside with tears.
Orna Ostfeld, had a moment of joy when one of the kids was so excited with the visit that he started dancing with her. "The impact such a visit has on us, is as strong as it has on those charming children" Said Ostfeld. "The worse thing that can happen to an athlete is a loss or injury, yet then you visit the hospital and re-arrange your proportions. Here there are kids who go through difficult treatments. Suddenly all our troubles seem so small."
